PADI Drift Diver Specialty Course                                       Invicta Divers Price: £109

Once you have mastered Peak Performance Buoyancy and Boat Diving, you'll be attracted by Drift Diving.   Instead of having to fin along to see the scenery, you position yourself in the water column and let the scenery come to you.   And what is more, the boat will follow you and pick you up at your destination, rather than you having to fin all the way back to it.

You'll find that you can spend much longer underwater on the same air, as you'll be working with the current, and not against it, and you'll cover more distance and see more of the underwater environment.

You'll need to have mastered buoyancy control, and it would be best if you have already done your boat diving specialty.

You'll learn how to avoid obstacles by using buoyancy control, and techniques for avoiding buddy separation.

You'll learn how to deploy and tow a surface marker buoy, so that the boat can track your progress (Note: there will be a fee payable to the skipper for the boat dives).

You'll make two drift dives with your Instructor, in waters where there will be a current running.

Pre-requisite qualifications
You must be an
Open Water Diver , or Junior Open Water Diver, or above.
The minimum age is 12.
