If you ever been sitting on the beach on your holiday and wondering what those people floating out there with the pipes sticking up from their heads are getting up to ... they're enjoying the underwater wonders of our world that you just cant appreciate from the shore or even from a boat.

They're snorkelling - able to breathe through that pipe while they keep their face in the water marvelling at all the life and colour going on beneath them.

Snorkelling is an activity that every member of the family can enjoy together - even those who are not yet old enough to SCUBA Dive.

This short course is all about getting into the water, having fun together, and learning by doing, under the guidance of your Instructor.

You'll learn about:-

-The characteristics of different types of masks, snorkels and fins
-Using an exposure suit for warmth, for sun protection, and for environmental protection
-How to breathe through a snorkel
-How to blast clear a snorkel
-How snorkelling differs from swimming
-Good posture in the water when snorkelling
-How to use fins, and good fin strokes
-Streamlining and cruising
-How to duck-dive safely
-Breathing techniques for safely extending a duck-dive
-The effects of water pressure on your ears and mask, and how to "equalise"
-Good practices when snorkelling, and why snorkellers must not breathe from SCUBA equipment underwater

Each participant will receive a frameable certificate at the end of their course
