Invicta Divers SCUBA Diving School Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

Q. My daughters are 15 and 7, and my son is 10.   Can they all learn to SCUBA Dive ?

A. Your 15-year old daughter can do a
PADI Open Water Diver course, and will qualify as a PADI Open Water Diver, entitled to dive down to 18 metres, accompanied by a qualified Open Water Diver or above.

Your 10-year old son can do an identical course and will qualify as a PADI Junior Open Water Diver.   10 is the minimum age to gain a PADI certification.   He will be qualified to dive down to 12 metres, accompanied by a qualified adult diver or PADI Professional.   When he turns 15, he will be able to dive down to 18 metres accompanied by a qualified Open Water Diver or above.

Your 7-year old daughter will have to wait awhile, and admire her brother and sister.     Why not learn how to snorkel, so the family can enjoy water activities safely together ?
And from age 8, she will be able to take part in pool-based activities, such as a "Bubblemaker" (Junior Try Dive) and "Seal Team" pool-based skills and activities.

With all Junior students, we individually assess their attention-span, maturity and responsibility and exercise discretion about engaging in SCUBA activities.
