Invicta Divers SCUBA Diving School Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

Q. I have a problem with my teenagers, one is ADD and the other ADHD.   Can they learn to SCUBA Dive ?

A. Short attention spans and hyperactivity often require special skills, patience and supervision to convey learning and to keep the individual engaged and interested.   SCUBA Diving can provide a great opportunity to be treated as an individual, whilst still in a supervised and safe environment.   SCUBA Diving can build individual responsibility and teamwork and provide tremendous individual focus, something which ADD and ADHD youngsters seek and need.

Most of the water skills are learned-by-doing; a learning style which ADD and ADHD individuals often respond to.   We find that individuals who are labelled as inattentive are often very focussed and engaged while SCUBA diving.

We like to treat everyone as an individual and give them the opportunity to learn to safely use SCUBA wherever possible.   We will work with you to assess the needs of your individuals and match them with our ability to help them to learn to SCUBA Dive in a safe and engaging environment.
