SPECIAL OFFER: SAVE £20 WHEN YOU BOOK THE EFR COURSE AND THE PADI RESCUE DIVER COURSE TOGETHER
If you're aiming to be a Rescue Diver or above, you'll need to be a current CPR and First-Aider with an accreditted training organisation.
The Emergency First Response course meets these requirements and goes beyond, to explain Automated External Defibrillation. EFR is an HSE approved course which meets the "First Aider in the Workplace" requirements.
The course is divided into three modules:
-Primary Care (CPR)
-Automated External Defibrillation
-Secondary Care (First Aid)
Primary Care
This module prepares you to render emergency care for life-threatening problems such as heart-stoppage, someone who is not breathing, someone who is bleeding badly, someone who is in shock, or someone with a spinal injury. You will learn to to assess the scene of the emergency, and the priorities for maintaining the patient's lifeline: the "ABCDS" of Primary Care.
Automated External Defibrillation (AED)
You'll learn what an AED is and when you should use one to help a patient who's heart has stopped. You'll practise emergency scenarios using a dummy and an AED training unit.
Secondary Care
This module prepares you to render emergency care for common first aid problems that are not immediately life-threatening. You also learn what to do until the Emergency Services arrive.
For each module, you'll study a candidate manual, watch a video, and take part in practical skill-development exercises in an EFR workshop, with an Instructor and other candidates.
NOTE: Your CPR and First Aid training remains current for a period of 24 calendar months, when it must be renewed with a refresher course.
If you last trained more than two years ago, you need to book a refresher course as soon as possible.
If you trained in MFA (Medic First Aid) or a non-PADI course, crossover courses are also available.
