PADI Advanced Open Water (AOW) Diver                        Invicta Divers Price: £ 239

Suitable for divers aged 12 and over

You're a PADI Open Water Diver (or equivalent from other agencies such as BSAC, SAA, SSI) and you want to go further. Maybe you want to go a little deeper.

The PADI Advanced Open Water Diver (PADI Junior Advanced Open Water Diver for under 15s) certification acknowledges that you have expanded your SCUBA diving experience through a range of PADI dives that is recognised worldwide. Not only will you have had fun getting there, but your new certification will allow you to join more demanding dives, and deeper dives, than are available to you as an Open Water Diver.

There are two routes to becoming a PADI Advanced Open Water Diver:

i) First, become certified as a PADI Adventure Diver and then add a Navigation Adventure Dive and a Deep Adventure Dive to your diving portfolio. The certification fee is £20.

ii) Do a single PADI Advanced Open Water Diver course, which comprises five Adventure dives ,  including a Navigation Adventure Dive and a Deep Adventure Dive. The course fee, above, also includes the Adventures in Diving manual and PADI certification.   This is a faster and lower-cost option for achieving your Advanced Open Water Diver rating.

Your new Advanced Open Water status will entitle you to dive down to depths of 30 metres, or 21 metres if aged 12-14.

The minimum age for Advanced Open Water Diver is 12.
