Who are we, what do we do ?
Invicta Divers is a not-for-profit organisation offering SCUBA Diving training in the Medway Towns area of north Kent, at the Black Lion Leisure Centre in Gillingham.
Training is open to everyone aged 10 and above who is a swimmer and in good health.
We sustain funding by charging fees for training at below commercial rates, to enable the maximum number of people access to the sport, and to the 70% of our fragile world which is underwater.
At Invicta Divers, we teach the PADI method of SCUBA Diving instruction.
PADI is the Professional Association of Diving Instructors, setting worldwide standards for the quality and content of instruction.
It means that you'll experience using SCUBA Equipment, and make your first dive, on your very first visit to the pool. We train in heated swimming pools in Swale, Medway and Gravesham.
You will learn-by-doing, backed up with theory that explains what you are doing and why. You'll have some home study, in your own time and at your own pace, using step-by-step coursebooks and videos. Each objective is clearly stated, then explained, and theres a little self-test to ensure that you have taken on board the point being made. Your Instructor will review each section with you, and will be available to explain any items where you have questions or difficulties.
In the water, your Instructor will explain and demonstrate a skill to you and then you'll simply just copy - its as easy as that. Once you have mastered one skill, you'll be introduced to the next, and so on.
We enjoy SCUBA Diving, and we want you to share the same enjoyment by joining in with our sport. Above all, we want you to be safe, confident, and having fun !!
